That recipe can be easily prepared in minutes using basic ingredients like garlic, chopped onion, a tin of tomatoes, a pinch of sugar, and a dollop of olive oil. A wonderful recipe when you’re in a hurry and want to put a meal on the table quickly. And have no time to do the groceries.
- The good news is you can add to this recipe what you like. You could add cooked meats or cooked ground beef. You could easily add an array of vegetables. And the wonderful thing about this recipe is you could easily serve it just as it is with nothing else. Of course, if you’d like to add a sprinkle of Parmesan, at the table that would be great too.
2)Pasta Bolognese
- In addition, there’s the classic Bolognaise or some call it Ragu sauce depending on which area of the country you come from. Furthermore, to give true merit to this wonderful historic recipe it would take about 3 hours to make this recipe in it’s traditional authentic form. It is truly a divine meal! Also if you are vegetarian or vegan many restaurants today do serve a meatless variety of the classic Bolognaise sauce. In this case, some chefs will utilize portabella mushrooms in place of the meat. This execution produces a fine result and a delicious meal.
3)Pasta All Amatriciana
- Thirdly, there is the wonderful and infamous pasta All Amatriciana. This sauce is not as widely and worldly known as the previous two. This pasta sauce recipe is something to remember. A serious red sauce made with Italian bacon of pancetta, ripe red tomatoes, red wine, and finished off with some red pepper flakes. If you like to get a little bit spicy with your tomato recipe this is something to try.
Pasta Sauce And No Tomato
- What if you’re not a fan of tomato sauce? No worries, there are plenty of white sauces available for you to delight in. These come more from the north of the country. Let’s start with the infamous classic Béchamel sauce which is commonly and historically made by combining flour, butter, and milk. Wikipedia Encyclopedia describes this classic white sauce in the following way:
1)Béchamel sauce (/ˌbeɪʃəˈmɛl/;[1] French: [beʃamɛl]), also known as white sauce,[2] is a sauce that originated in Italy,[3][need quotation to verify] later introduced to France, made from a white roux (butter and flour) and milk.
- Béchamel sauce is commonly used in assembling lasagne. Also referred by some as classic white lasagne. It is a delight for those who have the time to add layers upon layers of flavor to their lasagne. Even so, Béchamel sauce may be prepared on its own, as it is a very rich sauce.
2)Pasta Cream Sauce
- Next up is the infamous Alfredo sauce. This is another delicious and rich sauce. Being made with high-quality butter, cheese, and cream. It is indeed a heavenly delight. This sauce may be used on its own lending a worthy flavor just as it is. As well many do enjoy adding vegetables to this sauce. Some possibilities are fresh spinach or peas. The ideas are endless. In this group, there are a tremendous amount of white sauces that spin-off from the classic Béchamel sauce. There are lists upon lists of recipes that can be dreamed up in this white sauce family. It’s really up to you.
3)Pasta Sauce Healthy
- Next, last but not least we have the infamous and world-famous pesto. The word pesto means crushed up. This name comes from the historical times when pesto was made by taking fresh herbs etc and putting them in a mortar and crushing them with a pestle. Of course, you may still make your pesto in this way today if you have the time. Unfortunately, most people prefer to use the food processor to their save time. Thankfully there will be a very little compromise in taste so you may use whichever method is more convenient for you.
4)Pasta Recipes Vegan Pesto
- In the pesto family, parsley and basil pestos are quite famous. Also, nowadays it is quite easy to purchase parsley and or basil in any local market. Many supermarkets nowadays will carry pesto either already made or they will offer parsley freshly cut as well as basil. Some markets even enjoy selling parsley and basil in a small pot which you can just cut the leaves when you get home. Whichever method you prefer is up to you. Adding to the family of pesto there are many other kinds of pestos. The list goes on and on.
- This could be because nowadays pestos are so easy to make you can make a wholesome meal for an entire family within minutes. The other value of making pestos is that many of the pestos do not have to be cooked. That is a big timesaver in the kitchen, saving cooking time as well as saving clean-up time. Listed in the book Cooking In Times Like These-Covid-19 there is a Pesto With Sun-Dried Tomatoes on page 32 and Honey Roasted Pesto Sauce on page 44. In this particular recipe on page 44, you have two recipes in one.
- You may make this recipe using 1 cup of honey-roasted almonds for a sweet and tender taste. Or if you like more of a robust flavor you may use 1 cup of Smokehouse brand almonds instead. You will be amazed at the difference in flavor just by slightly changing the ingredients of your pesto.
- There are pestos made with herbs and vegetables. There are pestos made with herbs and various cheeses. The wonderful thing about pesto is that if you use raw ingredients that do not require cooking, your flavor is much more intense. This is because everything is in its most natural state. This is a big flavor enhancer.
